The successful Malaysian entrepreneur was born in 1960. As the executive chairman of the Hong Kong-based conglomerate, QI Group, Eswaran has played a pivotal role in ensuring that the company diversifies its portfolio. The entity has invested in various sectors of the economy, including property management, education, logistics, retail and direct sales, leisure and lifestyle, education, collectibles and luxury, and conference and training.
Vijay Eswaran is an alumnus of the London School of Economics where he studied and graduated with a socio-economic degree. The executive holds CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) certification. For a year, he made ends meet by engaging in odd jobs in Europe. At some point, Vijay Eswaran worked in London as a cab driver. In addition, he plucked grapes in France. In Belgium, Eswaran worked on a construction site. While he was in the United Kingdom, he was introduced to the world-renowned binary marketing system.
When he went to the United States, he enrolled in the esteemed Southern Illinois University where he earned his MBA. As he was working for Synaptics, a US-based company, he engaged in multi-level marketing business as a part-time job. He contends that when he returned to Malaysia, he was recruited by Cosway Group to lead its Philippines business. Vijay co-founded QI group in 1998. The e-commerce corporation has opened regional offices in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand. Through its many subsidiaries, the company has been able to maintain active operations in more than 30 countries.
