Doe Deere the “Queen of Unicorns” and the Founder and CEO of Lime Crime

Born and raised in Russia, Doe was always imaginative as a kid. Her biggest dream was to become a musician which she did when she moved to New York at the age of 17. She enjoyed her youthful years in Russia and New York. Today, Doe is based in Los Angeles where she stays with her husband and runs the day to day activities of her unique cosmetic brand Lime crime. Her time as a musician made her appreciate and gain some marketing strategies. Her first entrepreneurial venture was back in Russia at the age of 13 when she first sold temporary tattoos to her classmates. She discovered the tattoos and popularized them to sell to many.

She lived in New York from 1998 to 2012. Deere lived in Brooklyn for nine years, so she is a frequent visitor to the area when she visits New York. During her time as a musician, she met her husband. Working together in a music band made them learn how to manage things effectively as a team. Today, her husband is also her business partner. As for those women who are young and ambitious, Doe advises them to follow their heart fully. Everybody is unique in their way, and nobody can do what you are meant to do for the world. Being yourself will allow you to be happy and will allow you to reach your full potential.

Lime crime was born due to Doe’s preference of bright and unusual colors. Back then, in 2008, these colors were very rare. The make-up industry concentrated on making nude lipsticks and makeups that were aimed at bringing out the natural skin color. Beige gloss was one of the common lipstick back ten. Doe decided to make the bright colored makeup for herself, and she was shocked to see how many more gals and women were interested in the same.

According to Doe, makeup gives all women the freedom to be themselves. Especially those women who use bright colored makeup like herself and her clients. She believes that makeup offers women the freedom to express themselves without fear of judgment. Makeup makes a woman feel what she deems right at the moment. While in New York Doe went to FIT and majored in fashion design. Makeup, hair, and fashion should go hand in hand. Learn more:
