Born in 1962 in the United Kingdom, Daniel Taub is a former diplomat who served as an ambassador from Israel to the United Kingdom from June 2011 to September 2015. An Israeli citizen, Daniel Taub is also a writer and an international lawyer by profession. Currently, he works at the Yad Hanadiv Foundation located in Jerusalem. He serves as the director of a strategy and planning there.
Having being born and raised in the United Kingdom, Daniel Taub attended a school in Elstree, Hertfordshire known as Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School. After completing his studies, in 1989, Daniel Taub moved to Israel. He then joined the Israeli Defence Forces as a combat medic and also as a reserve officer. Later on, Daniel Taub became the speechwriter for the President of Israel, Chaim Herzog. It was in 1991 that he joined the Foreign Ministry.
In the foreign ministry, Daniel Taub held numerous positions from legal ones to political and diplomatic positions. At one time, he served as the Principal Deputy Legal Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Israel. In that position, he basically, advised on Israeli’s mission to Geneva and New York. He also represented Israel in numerous multilateral fora.
Daniel Taub was an exemplary serviceman and as a result in 2011, he was appointed as an Israel Ambassador to the United Kingdom and he did not fail. He put a strong emphasis on technology and trade kinks.
As a result, within 2 years while in office, the bilateral trade between the United Kingdom and Israeli increased to $8 billion. Other than service to his country, Daniel Taub is an eloquent public speaker and a lecturer. He has even been interviewed by many international media houses like CNN and SkyNews.
